AZ Shooting my two cents....
Why two cents because thanks to wonderful capitalism that's about all I have to my name.
I figured I wouldn't need to chime in on the subject of the shooting in Arizona since this is all over every media outlet. Left, Right, Conservative and Independent news is full of stories of this jack off and what his possible motives for murder were. Now thanks to the story I just read on Yahoo News it could have been because his panties were literally in a bunch.
The other night I retweeted a post by the news organization AlterNet that said "It's 10 PM and Sara Palin is still an asshole". Which got me a reply for an ever BIGGER asshole calling himself Waterboarding4U (Sure with a name like that the only book in the house is the bible, with the word Jew scribbled out) calling me an asshole. Well here's the thing, first off I AM an asshole and will freely admit it. Second, my asshole-ness has not cause the death of anyone but especially an innocent young child. No one is saying Sara Palin picked up Loughner, took him to get his pantie pictures, then dropped him off at the hotel after surprising him with a new Glock.
What we are saying is this, Palin and her right-wing racist friends have created a climate where violence appears to be acceptable. Not only acceptable but praiseworthy by the racist establishment. People like Loughner are being lead to believe that they are doing right and will find their actions welcomed by the RNC and Tea Party. Now openly these groups, for their own survival, eschew political violence but never doubt for a minute they find anything wrong with Loughner's actions. Anything to put fear into their opponents is good for them.
So when fearful Internet boogie men call you an asshole for showing the world Sara Palin complicity in this crime don't fret. It just means we are winning, we are showing them (the racists tea partier republicrats) for who they really are. The desperate, violent actions in Arizona while sadly will likely become more numerous are the actions of failure. The right is losing and violence is going to be their last gasp at trying to maintain control.

Support Lucasville Prisoners Hunger Strike!
Please click on the link above and show your support for those prisoners who dare to stand up for the rights of all. If there is one thing I could get people to do it is look deeper into what is happening behind prison walls. Private prison corporations running prisons as their own labor camps, the violence and degradation, prisons are hell. I know there are those who would say "So what, that's what prisons are supposed to be". This a vile and incredibly ignorant point of view.
A compassionate society begins behind walls, support prisoners today, sign the petition. Then contact the ABC (Anarchist Black Cross) for a list of political prisoners who would be so happy to receive a letter of support. I am honored to correspond with a couple of individuals being held prisoner, their strength and will to carry on in the face of the most brutal repression give me the perseverance to fight.
Never forget those behind the wire!

Minor Threat 30 Years On
Minor Threat along with the Misfits and Fear were my entrance in to the world of Punk. Up until my six grade summer I was one of the faceless herd. I played school sports and did all of the "normal" white suburban things. Then I found skateboarding at a time when in my hometown anyone who did anything but play baseball was an instant outcast. Thanks to Tony Hawk, the Bones Brigade and Punk Rock I was on my way to being ostracized from "normal" suburban society. Keep in mind this was years before the X-Games, Pop Punk and underground culture being co-oped and commodified, packaged and sold at the mall.
I walked into my first day of middle school wearing green suede shoes, red plaid pants and a brown flannel shirt. Boom, outsider, why for being myself? Yup! The next couple years of school (before dropping out) could have been much more hellish, and for a lot of kids they are, but I was lucky enough to have Punk.
Listening to Punk let me know I was not alone, that my feelings were actually normal. School IS fucked up, society IS fucked up! It wasn't the outcasts like mt that were wrong, it was the rotten little rich kids with their cardigan sweaters and dock shoes who were the problem.
Punk lead me to Hardcore and Oi, and (with some help from my Dad) Reggae and Ska. To this very day not a day goes by that I don't listen to one of those forms of music. Read this great article below and if you've never listened to Minor Threat get your hands on some NOW!

For years it's been common knowledge that Mason abused the power of his office to railroad people in to the prison system. Finally some light is being shed on this, but don't ever think Mason is a rogue here. This is all part of the evils of the Prison Complex that is used as a form of control and slave labor. The stats show that the majority of people being locked up are non-violent drug offenders, so people with the sickness of addiction are being locked up. Question who goes to prison to get medical and psychological help? No one! These people are not being helped and healed by the prison system, but their lives are being forever tainted and destroyed by it. And let's not forget the children of parents who are locked away, what of the horrid psychological toll taken on them. I know some will say "don't do the crime if you can't do the time". That just shows a blinding disconnect from the reality of crime and the conditions that lead people to it. Crime is bred of poverty, the poverty of economic discrepancy and the poverty of the spirit. Fix them and see where the crime rate is then.
But of course there are reasons that won't happen under this system.
